One of my favourite swims on the River Creuse and three classic fish from the stretch
Have you ever wanted to land carp that you can be virtually certain have never graced the banks before? A CARP WITH NO NAME, until now previously untamed? Untamed being the appropriate word as you will be astonished at the power of these fish. As a well known published angler put it to us “…. even the small 'uns' pull your arms off!!”. So if you fancy a weeks carping on the wild side but with a big helping hand then come over and visit us in the South Loire basin on the rivers Creuse and Vienne.
They're not all lean, mean and beautiful This one fat on river shellfish at 47lb

We’ll give you information on the best areas to fish and sort out any problems you may not have forseen before they have had the chance to happen. Most people, just don’t know where to start when it comes to tackling the rivers in France, we certainly didn't. For example:
Where do I fish? How do I fish? Any decent Carp in this stretch? Can I night fish here? Can I fish here at all? (Some rivers are private!!) Do I need a license? Where do I buy a license? Does this license cover me fishing here (You can cross a river and be in another department and the license you bought not be valid.) What happens if it doesn't cover me? Do I need a boat and where can I get one? What if something goes wrong, I can't speak the language? What if it doesn't fish well after a few days, where next? etc.etc. etc.
Now all these questions and more are answered. We'll ensure you'll be legally fishing quality stretches of river that will suit your prefered style of fishing, with onhand on-going advice immediately available. You can use as many or few of the services available to you (shown on the Drive n' We'll Guide page.)
Even the smaller rivers hold Carp and Cats to low forties
Since moving to the area and landing that first mid-twenty river carp Martin, a previously confirmed lake lover, has not even thought of fishing a still water. All his efforts are going into finding the best swims and facilities for you to enjoy. He has amazed the members of his local river carping club with the string of catches he has made. This whilst not conforming to the standard tactics of the area, a few of them are now trying his methods and seem to be reaping the benefits too. This can only benefit you as a steady stream of information is now being collected whereas once it was all kept very much under their hats (or should we say berets).
